The Office of Academic and Student Affairs (OASA) at West Virginia University is seeking applications for a full-time Program Manager of Graduate Enrollment and Admissions. This position will serve as the main staff member to conduct data analysis, prepare reports in areas of student enrollment and persistence (e.g., enrollment, retention, completion, probation, etc.), and to manage our SOPHAS application system for admissions and enrollment for graduate programs in the School of Public Health. This person will also provide leadership in conjunction with all student affairs staff for strategic efforts on student success, and the recruitment and retention of groups underrepresented in higher education programs. Overall, this position provides critical analytical support to the School of Public Health's planning, assessment, and decision-making processes.


In order to be successful in this position, the ideal candidate will:



  • Create a range of reports related to student enrollment and persistence


  • Communicate analytical results to SPH academic departments for retention, probation, and completion of data collection and dissemination.


  • Work with Director of Assessment to provide data analysis and data reports to support specialized accreditations and/or ranking, such as Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH), Board of Governors (BOG), Higher Learning Commission (HLC), etc.


  • Identify, gather, and organize data to provide accurate and timely information.


  • Conduct or participate in workshops, committees, and conferences designed for retention data collection and dissemination.


  • Utilization of Tableau or other software systems that allow for the creation of dashboard development and analytics.


  • Respond to different ad hoc data requests from the Dean of the School and the Office of the Vice President for Health Sciences.


  • Perform technical data support duties as assigned.

Pay Grade: 17



  • Master's degree in education, business, administration, counseling or a related field preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of related professional work experience will be considered.
  • One (1) year in an academic setting and familiarity with student affairs including student retention, enrollment and software applications for admissions.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated experience with data analytics and reporting for the purposes of compliance
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong ability to multi-task multiple projects at the same time.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret data
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to present information and respond to questions from senior leadership administrative team
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize Excel or other data management software to create and produce clear, concise, documents for purpose of reporting.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment and to coordinate participation of team members from various backgrounds.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Experience in academic setting required.
  • Experience in academic public health student affairs preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and without supervision on high-level projects
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
