What does a great Business Architect, Advisory do?

As a Business Architect you will play a key role in structuring the enterprise in terms of its governance structure, business processes, and business information. This person aligns strategic goals and objectives with decisions regarding products and services; partners and suppliers; organization; capabilities; and key business and IT initiatives. The primary focus is the business motivations, business operations and business analysis frameworks and related networks that link these aspects of the enterprise together. The Business Architect works to develop an integrated view of the enterprise using a repeatable approach, cohesive framework, and available industry standard techniques.

  • Develop a business architecture strategy based on a situational awareness of various business scenarios and motivations.
  • Capture the tactical and strategic enterprise goals that provide traceability through the organization and are mapped to metrics that provide ongoing governance.
  • You will work with multiple business owners in understanding and documenting the detailed requirement by creating business requirements documents and/or user stories.
  • Will be responsible for documenting the current and future business capabilities provided by IT Systems.
  • Will be responsible for documenting the impact to business capability because of new requirements.
  • Will be responsible for documenting the tier 1, tier 2 and tier 3 business capabilities of the systems.
  • Will act as technical product owner and provide the acceptance criteria.
  • Need to collaborate with testing team and provide input for creating the test plan and test data.
  • Able to create the business capability model for a given system.
  • Need to work with product management in understanding and providing input to the product roadmap.
  • Work with solution architecture and development team for successful implementation of the requirements.
  • Able to present the business solutions to senior stake holders.
  • Align strategic goals and objectives with decisions regarding products and services; partners and suppliers; organization; capabilities; and key business and IT initiatives.
  • Will be responsible for conducting the product demos to the business users.
  • Will focus on long term solutions and still able to provide short term solutions to meet project timeline.

Basic Qualifications for Consideration:

  • Bachelor's degree in business or engineering.
  • 12+ years of experience in working with business stakeholders and business users in gathering requirements, creating acceptance criteria and presenting the requirements to technical teams in creating the design/architecture for implementation.
  • 5+ years of experience in working with testing team in creating test plans and test data.
  • Experience working with product management in creating the product roadmap.
  • Understand the latest industry trends and align it with product strategy.
  • Good understanding of business capability model.
  • Experience in presenting business solutions to senior stake holders.
  • Good understanding of agile/SAFe methodology.
  • Understanding of print operation will be a big plus.
