Job Description




Comer Companies is seeking a ECommerce Director to oversee the product development and product launch for a new concept in the sports apparel industry. This leader will oversee the design, manufacturing, production, and licensing of the product. He/She will also play a key role in forming strategic partnerships and relationships within the sports industry in order to help get the business of the ground. Once the product is launched, this person will manage all aspects of the E-Commerce business including, planning, content strategy and development, online marketing, and other business needs as they arise. This person will leverage the already talented team at Trusy and Comer Companies to build their next successful business unit.


  • Conduct market research through identifying target audience(s), analyzing  competition, assessing customer needs and preferences (i.e. focus groups, buying trends, etc.), and researching suppliers 
  • Move business from conceptual phase to pre-production: finalize designs for production, oversee production, and manage distribution channels
  • Develop a business case to present to Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC) and other licensing agencies; must obtain licenses to move business forward 
  • Management of customer experience including design/aesthetics, content, navigation, information architecture, and branding/marketing
  • Determines project costs and revenue projections; forms an operating budget
  • Ownership and management of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) measurements and Digital Marketing (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, PPC and SEM Campaigns); knows when to make adjustments to online marketing efforts
  • Generate and implement new sales and marketing initiatives to increase E-Commerce sales and profitability


Qualifications



  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred 
  • Experience as an entrepreneur; natural self-starter
  • 5-7+ years experience in online marketing, SEO, and E-Commerce strategies
  • Strong desire to build a profitable business from the ground up and be successful
  • Understands the importance of the lessons one finds in failure and knows the importance of watching out for the things that can damage or kill a business
  • Ability to network with a natural bend toward sales—will find the relationships needed to make the business successful
  • Thrifty—works hard to build the business with very little capital investment
  • Confidence in their ability but also humble, seeks the team’s input and idea
  • Technically savvy—comfortable in spreadsheets, analyzing metrics, etc.
  • Excellent communicator with passion and a ‘go-getter’ mentality
  • Operates with high-integrity and high-competence
  • Strong independent decision-making, planning, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to strategically build and develop business partnerships
