To support implementation of prophetic priorities, Church departments develop, pilot, and implement new strategies, programs, and tools to administer the work of the Church. These efforts are supported by strategy professionals on high-impact teams that bring strong and objective analytical and problem-solving skills to guide decisions at all levels of the organization.

We are looking for a full-time Management Consultant to help us continue to enhance the management consulting discipline in the Meetinghouse Facilities Department (MFD). The MFD's primary focus is on planning, providing (acquiring real estate and constructing facilities), and maintaining places of worship around the world.

MFD Management Consultants lead out in thought partnership, analyzing opportunities for improvement, developing proposals, solutions, and recommendations. They work with local and international leaders, including strategic project managers, directors, and managing directors. Each Management Consultant is anticipated to own individual workstreams, or significant pieces of work, and will experience a high degree of autonomy, leadership, and extensive decision-making opportunities.


  • Primary responsibility will be typical of a strategy engagement: identifying opportunities through hypotheses, data driven analysis, and research, testing possible solutions, and collaborating with senior leaders to determine highest impact changes
  • Strategic project and change management is critical, which includes shaping work streams, leading project teams drawn from the wider department, and ensuring delivery of results
  • Working as a collaborative thought partner, clarifying ambiguity, and taking initiative are critical components of this role
  • Performs work with a high degree of autonomy
  • Provides leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to subordinate group through extensive knowledge in area of specialization
  • May lead projects that span across multiple departments


Ideal candidates should have relevant work experience in strategy, analytics, and/or management consulting and should demonstrate the following attributes and abilities:

  • Current temple recommend holder
  • BS/BA Degree plus 3-5 years of experience – preferably with a strategy emphasis
  • Masters Degree preferred
  • Experience leading development and completion of strategic projects
  • Demonstrated experience in managing others
  • Able to influence strategic thinking, identify trends, and analyze data to impact recommendations
  • Comfortable with ambiguous and complex situations and an ability to provide logical and coherent potential solutions
  • Advanced ability to communicate effectively in a way that builds and improves relationships both orally and in writing
  • Must have excellent presentation development and speaking skills and abilities
  • Ability to appropriately handle sensitive data and documents
  • Effectively communicate in a way that builds and improves relationships across the department and with senior leadership
  • Preferred experience in large management consulting firm
  • Work from Church headquarters in Salt Lake City – Post COVID-19 restrictions

Worthiness Qualification

Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.
