Assistant chaplain to serve the spiritual needs of Protestant students and serve as chaplain outreach coordinator to students who identify as Black, Indigenous, or People of Color.

Major Areas of Responsibility

  • Oversee preparations for and lead weekly Interdenominational service. Responsible for recruiting student leaders and ministry formation.
  • Convene or join a regular meeting of Worcester clergy and representatives from area ministries.
  • Offer small group faith development opportunities for students,
  • Serve as a resource and support for student leaders of Bible study.
  • Coordinate efforts of College Chaplains in outreach and support for students who identify as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color .
  • Participate in general duties of college chaplains such as pastoral care, dinners with students, retreats, collaborate with other chaplains in planning of campus prayers services such as Multifaith prayer, and serve on College committees.

Job Requirements:

  • Master of Divinity
  • Ordination preferred
  • Experience working with young people who are traditionally underrepresented on College campuses
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion.
  • Familiarity with Ignatian spirituality a plus, willingness to learn about Ignatian spirituality is essential
  • Strong public speaking skills
  • Religion and Conflict Transformation certificate is not necessary but helpful.
