Performs a wide variety of engineering assignments in work measurement for the establishment of standards and improved flow. Work with cross-functional teams at multiple levels inside and outside our organization to implement improvements. Establish and maintain a working list of projects including priority based on fiscal impact. Establish a standardize schedule for updating of department projects with supply chain/stores team.What You Will Do: • Plan, conduct, and/or direct research and/or development work on complex projects requiring the origination and application of new and unique approaches • Recommend changes in procedures, design or equipment where necessary • Schedule projects to meet completion dates and technical specifications • Review progress with management • Establish and implement inventory control throughout the supply chain value stream • Establishing Material classifications, setting up routings, setting up attributes, setting up UC4 jobs and delivery methods • Work with counterparts in Muscatine to leverage the materials within the network • Owns part set up from creation through discontinuation • Works effectively with the procurement analyst on a variety of projects and initiatives to reduce cost and generate savings • Establish and implement standard part delivery system within the facility which reduces indirect labor cost • Become familiar with available technology/systems for material delivery within a facility • Benchmark successful systems What You Have: • Bachelor’s degree in the engineering field; or four years related experience and/or training in industrial engineering; or equivalent combination of education and experience in industrial engineering What You’re Good At: • Project management – ability to lead projects to successful completion • Design – generate creative solutions and demonstrate attention to detail • Strong problem solving and analytical skills • Strong computer skills specifically in Microsoft Office • Experience in the field of industrial engineering • Demonstrate willingness to work non-standard hours when necessary for analyzing and implementing change • Demonstrate a bias for action and the ability to work with limited supervision HNI Corporation (NYSE: HNI) is a manufacturer of workplace furnishings and building products, operating under two segments.
