Yard Driver-Night Shift

Dirt Cheap Distribution Center is currently hiring FULL-TIME YARD DRIVERS for our Hattiesburg Warehouse.

It is the Yard Jockey's job to move semi-truck trailers to and from the yard to the shipping, receiving and recycling loading docks. These drivers help streamline the loading and unloading process by managing the trailers that are at the facility.

Schedule:

2nd Shift: 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm

•Assist with docking trailers.

•Inspect containers and perform yard checks.

•Keep loading docks filled with trailers

•Keep yard organized and know where all the trailers are located

•Communicate with the managers inside building

•Fill out paperwork for tractor.

•Fuel tractor •Keep the yard tractor clean.

•Yard jockeys are responsible for moving trailers on, and around, the lot.

•Couple and uncouple trailers

•Chocking trailers as they are spotted for loading and unloading and pulling from doors

*Aside from driving a terminal tractor, drivers may also be required to operate warehouse equipment like pallet jacks or forklifts to help with loading or unloading trailers

Requirements

Qualifications:

•Valid Driver's License (CDL is a plus).

•1 year of documented tractor-trailer experience in the last 3 years is a plus.

•Follow all federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelines.

•Work the required schedule, work at the specific location required.

•Background investigation (to include past employment, education, and criminal history) and drug screening are required. •This position is regulated by the Department of Transportation or designated as safety-sensitive by the company, and the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner is required.

•The associate must be able to legally operate a motor vehicle and safely and frequently enter/exit the vehicle as well as the rear cargo area.

Physical Requirements:

•Must be 18 years of age or older.

•Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

•Must have the ability to stand and/or seat for extended periods (entire shift).

•Ability to bend, twist frequently, squat, kneel, and balance

•The associate must be able to see and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions:

•Routinely work near moving mechanical parts such as forklifts, pallet jacks, trailer trucks, or similar mechanical devices •Working in moderate to loud noise levels Working in extreme weather (heat and cold)
