You'll ensure we have what we need to service our customers.As a Machinist, you'll be responsible for setting up and operating CNC and Manual Grind machines to process customer hardware.What you'll do: • Read and interpret blueprints, overhaul manuals, specifications, and repair procedures • Compute basic math • Set-up and operate ID/OD CNC and manual grinder to perform specific operations per router • Engineer new set-ups and runs more than one type of machine • Yield on 1st run with little supervision • Work with exotic metals • Set up, adjust, and operate all of the basic machine tools and many specialized or advanced vibration tools in order to perform precision grinding operations • Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines • Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process • Handling of customer hardware using proper methods • Reviews router for processing instruction and completion • Use of precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions of product for accuracy and conformance to specifications • Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department team lead • Cross train • Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations Position Requirements: • Knowledge using measuring instruments • Knowledge of feeds, speeds, dressing wheels, use of coolants and oils • Understand basic plating process • Understanding and utilization of ASME Y14.5 geometric dimension and tolerance principles • Able to do basic pre and post grind plating calculations Preferred Characteristics: • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines • Ability to multitask • Detail orientated and organized • Experience in industry with mechanical aptitude a plus Benefits that make life better: • Comprehensive Healthcare • 401(k) with 100% company match; up to 5% vested • Paid Time Off starting on day one • Bonus opportunities • Health- & Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts • Short- & Long-Term Disability • Life & AD&D Insurance • Learning & Training opportunities Raising the Standard of Excellence since 1911 With over a century of proven excellence, StandardAero has become an industry leader in MRO services and customized solutions in the aerospace field.
