Automation Systems Engineer

IPG is headquartered in Oxford, Massachusetts and has more than 30 facilities worldwide We are looking for an Automation Systems Engineer to join our growing Genesis team in Davenport, IA. In this role you will be responsible for performing activities associated with the design, programming and startup of automated systems Duties / Responsibilities – • Work with Project Managers and customers in preparation of system quotations and runoff - this includes lead engineering, software development, process development and robot programming • Technical resource to customers, Design Engineers, and Project Managers • Provide consulting, lead engineering of new designs for customers and Genesis products • Use PLC and various other controls programming for standard products and custom equipment • Debugging operation of the workcell and establish a fully functional and safe machine • Educate Engineering staff on the standard product software and system operation • Evaluate, select and develop new applications for emerging technologies (maintaining Genesis’ unique value proposition to the automation market) • Communicate with customers, both internal and external, to thoroughly understand their needs and to clearly communicate the proposed solution • Document and organize procedures and interfacing of process equipment • Responsible for system startups at customer facility • Establish the maximum performance of the system
