Well established Design Build firm seeking a Lead Designer/Lead Architect. In this role, you are pivotal in team collaboration and responsible for completing tasks in atimely manner, as needed for the various phases of design. This position will work closely with both the Design and Sales teams to move clients through the design process and into construction. Our ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of residential construction methods and materials; advanced level Revit modeling and advanced level drafting skills. Your Mission as a Lead Designer/Lead Architect:

  • Develop high quality design concepts that both help our clients achieve their goals for their home as well as help them manage their investment budget.
  • Coordinate responsibilities within the design team to use each member’s best skills and source resources as needed to develop projects in a timely manner with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Communicate, to the Production Team, the information needed to build the client’s dream to their satisfaction as well as construct projects on time and on budget

Responsibilities of a Lead Designer/Lead Architect

  • Lead design effort of the client to develop larger complex additions, whole house remodels, and new home builds
  • Perform or Coordinate Design Team effort for timely and accurate completion of:

o Design Development

o Conceptual Drawings

o Material Selections

o Structural Drawings

o Permitting

  • Schedule and oversee all design related meetings
  • Delegate workload as appropriate and manage delegated work to ensure on time and accurate completion of all portions of the design
  • Participate in ongoing training for the benefit of the staff, the company, and future clients
  • Provide weekly updates on project status to the team
  • Assist Production Department as needed during construction
  • Attend or coordinate attendance of electrical walk, tile walk and weekly meetings as needed
  • Coordinate efforts with the entire Schroeder team to ensure a seamless client experience and ensure attainment of overall company goals.

What you should have as a Lead Designer/Lead Architect:

  • Degree in Architecture from an Accredited University, Master’s Degree Preferred
  • Registered Architect
  • Eight (8) plus years of experience
  • Residential Experience a plus
  • Proficiency in the International Residential Building Codes and building material sciences
  • Software: Microsoft Office and Revit

Preferred Soft Skills and Personality Traits of Lead Designer/Lead Architect

o Residential architectural design experience (drafting, specifications, finish selections) 5+ years minimum

o Working experience with REVIT (preferred), AutoCad and/or Chief Architect

o Solution oriented creative problem solver – able to identify opportunities, vet options, gain team and client consensus, and bring items to closure

o Provide great client service - active listener to understand client needs and preferences to deliver results

o A strong design sense - practical solutions that are interesting, beautiful, and functional

o Ability to think “outside the box” but also have an attention to detail

o Able to plan and organize work independently

o Product selection experience – ability to research and recommend products to meet unique project design solutions in coordination with construction applications

o Effective communication; Written and Verbal
