Commercial HVAC Maintenance Technician

Pay: $18-$25\Hr.

The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market data.

Shift: Monday- Friday 7:00am – 3:30 pm

Commercial HVAC Technician Job Description

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned):

1. Completes corrective and preventive work orders as assigned.

2. Operates & maintains HVAC equipment, including chillers, absorbers, generators, boilers and associated equipment.

3. Inspects HVAC systems and their components for the purpose of the evaluation condition, indemnity necessary repairs and recommending preventative maintenance.

4. Calibrates temperature control related sensors, receivers and transmitters

5. Monitors, troubleshoots and maintains control systems, including pneumatic, DDS / hybrid systems.

6. Effectively monitors and adjusts interior environments via a Building Automation System

7. Repairs and maintains other mechanical and physical plant systems, including motors, pumps, valves, steam operated equipment, compressors, etc.

8. Maintains relevant logs and documentation.

9. Monitors the performance of HVAC subcontractors; including conformance to code.

10. Provide excellent customer service.

11. Responds to emergency situations during and after hours.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 3 years of commercial HVAC experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Excellent communication and documentation skills

Experienced with schematics and blueprints

Self-motivated and good working either with a team or individually

Comfortable with different technology based applications and computers

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos, Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees or the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, and divides in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Universal HVAC license and valid state driver's license.
