Material Coordinator

SUMMARY: Plan and schedule material and production orders that come in through ADS and material requests. Assist in stockroom.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned.

• Confer with production personnel, engineering, materials, production mangers, and customer service to resolve problems affecting production schedules and status of assignments and projects.

• Work with Marketing and Engineering as planning liaison.

• Act as customer service point of contact for providing commit dates for production orders not captured by the system as a standard.

• Confer with materials department to determine overdue materials and parts, and to inform production supervisor of material status.

• Check material availability for lead time quotes and production scheduling.

• Print WO as required for issue of materials from stockroom and for use by production workers as guides in assembly or manufacture of product for Accelerated Deliver Schedule (ADS).

• Maintain Excel spreadsheet with information necessary to track and measure time spent quoting lead time.

• Process RGAs.

• Maintain files of documents used and prepared.

• Review and expedite shortage reports daily.

• Schedule production work orders based on Master Schedule Report.

• Provide backup support for the stockroom as needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES Requires knowledge typically acquired through:

• Completion of a High School diploma or general education degree (GED),

• A minimum of six months to three years of related experience or training.

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

• Ability to write simple correspondence.

• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, employees, and clients.

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

• Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
