Division Overview:

Crown’s Beverage Division manufactures a variety of packaging solutions for soft drinks, craft beers, coffees and teas as well as new energy drinks. Crown Beverage leads the packaging industry with innovative technologies that redefine how the world looks at beverage cans. Position overview:

Reporting directly to the Plant Superintendent, the Manufacturing Manager is responsible for all aspects of the production operation and production efficiencies including coordinating and supervising activities of equipment and personnel throughout the facility.

Duties And Responsibilities:

The Manufacturing Manager responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:

  • Applies knowledge of various processes and production methods
  • Manages machinery setup and adjustment
  • Ability to create and maintain preventative maintenance programs and plans for various equipment and processes as well as set up and maintain schedules for them
  • Inspects products to ensure compliance to standards; oversees quality and recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimal performance within the equipment limits
  • Communicates all pertinent information between departments and between shifts on changes to equipment, production schedules, production problems or any other related information
  • Works with employees and Production Supervisors on identifying, discussing solutions, and implementing "fixes" on machinery and equipment problems
  • Performs and facilitates on the job training and/or coaching of all employees
  • Completes and/or administers documentation such as area or machine specific reports
  • Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 5-7 years’ experience working in a high-speed manufacturing environment
  • At least 3 years proven supervisory experience
  • Must be available to work various shifts if needed and be able to work nights, weekends, and overtime to cover absences or provide additional support
  • Ability to travel 10% throughout North America

Preferred Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Packaging industry experience
  • Knowledge of Six Sigma, SPC, lean manufacturing, and Rutherford high speed decorators

  • Proven ability to prioritize effectively and excellent time management skills
  • Ability to change shifts and plant departments to cover absences or provide additional support
  • Understanding of machinery and equipment
  • Ability to know when to assume responsibility and when to delegate
  • Strong commitment to quality and safety
  • Skills in MS Outlook, Word, Excel & PowerPoint
  • Proven problem-solving skills and experience using analytical approaches to problems
  • Project management experience
  • Proven oral and written communication skills
  • Effective interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple projects to completion
  • Ability to work effectively both as an individual and in a team environment using collaborative methods
  • Must be committed to ongoing personal training and development

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and /or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions

  • Will be required to perform job duties outside of the typical office setting in a plant environment as well as in an office
  • While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic
  • The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures
  • The noise level is frequently loud
