Principal Duties/Responsibilities:

o Fabricates products according to job order, verbal instructions, and blueprints

o Designs and fabricates based on visual assessment of a situation

o Utilizes proper measuring devices, such as micrometers, calipers, etc.

o Joins, fabricates, and repairs metal and other weldable material by applying appropriate welding techniques

o Reads and interprets blueprints and CAD drawings provided by Engineers

o Operates metal cutting power saws, drill presses, shaping equipment, and grinders

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, & Behaviors Required:

o High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and five years related experience and/or training in pipe and vessel welding, and Stick, Mig, and Tig welding techniques; or equivalent combination of education and experience

o Must possess current pipe and vessel welding certificates

o Experience in a metal fabrication shop preferred

o Must be qualified to operate a lift truck

o Must adhere to company/customer safety procedures

o Ability to: read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form; write routine reports and correspondence; add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

o Must be a team player, organized, self-motivated and able to prioritize

o Must have outstanding people and communication skills for interaction with other team members, customers, and management

o Must have ability to work successfully with computers and software.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands/fingers to handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb, ascend/descend or balance to heights that may require a ladder or lift; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl in confined spaces; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds. The employee is regularly required to use close vision and color vision. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. Work is typically performed in a factory environment and is usually very loud. In the factory environment, the employee may be exposed to hazardous materials and/or greasy or slippery factory floors.
