Overview

Credence Management Solutions, LLC (Credence) is seeking a Solution Architect to support our Bureau of Engraving & Printing (BEP) Enterprise Architecture support services program. Credence is in its third year supporting BEP in building an agile, business outcome-driven, and flexible EA program.

The Solution Architect position will look at the existing environment and analyze what technologies are available and what products to develop, to provide the best solutions for solving BEP problems. The position will help build a bridge between the business problem and the technology solution, and guide and monitor solutions from inception through operations.

Although the customer resides in Washington, DC, the position does not contractually require the Solution Architect to be on-site, but the position may require the Solution Architect to travel occasionally to Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze current technologies used within BEP and determine ways to improve them.
  • Create a technical vision for solutions.
  • Help design, describe, develop, and manage solutions.
  • Provide recommendations and roadmaps for proposed solutions.
  • Perform design, debug, and perform solutions analysis.
  • Document and share best-practice knowledge for new solutions.
  • Advocate for process improvements.
  • Communicate new features and benefits to partners, customers, and other stakeholders.
  • Provide technical leadership to a team throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop proof-of-concept projects to validate proposed solutions.
  • Review and validate solution design.
  • Document and monitor requirements needed to institute proposed solutions.
  • Work closely with Information Technology professionals within BEP to ensure hardware/software is available for solutions/projects and is in proper working order.
  • Account for possible solution/project challenges.
  • Provide specifications for proposed solutions.
  • Collaborate with multiple technical and business stakeholders.
  • Maintain knowledge of current technology.

Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain BEP Public Trust and Background Investigation approval.
  • A minimum of five to seven (5-7) years of related experience is required or a master's degree in computer science or software engineering is preferred.
  • Project Management and leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with Federal Government Laws and Authorities.
  • Awareness of Federal Government resources for guiding solution architecture.
  • Experience with a Master Application Inventory and documenting application interdependencies.
  • Experience documenting an organization’s Informational Needs.
  • Knowledge of IT Asset Management (ITAM).
  • Experience with Infrastructure or Technology Architecture.
  • Knowledge of Network Engineering.
  • Knowledge of Cybersecurity concepts in the Federal Government.
  • Experience with AI, ML, and RPA.
  • Understanding of ITIL, Agile, Service-Oriented Architecture, Component-Based Development, Lean Six Sigma Process Improvement, DevOps, Automated Testing and Deployment, Microservices, and Containerization.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Experience in the design of medium to large-sized applications, preferably in the cloud and/or container environment.
  • Advanced understanding of business analysis techniques and processes.
  • Modern application development experience.
  • Experience with modern DBMS database engines.
  • Experience in software engineering and design architecture.
  • Critical thinking and the ability to look at problems from different angles.
