  • Sun-Thurs- 3pm-11:30pm
  • Tues-Sat- 3pm-11:30pm
  • Sunday Night- Friday Morning- 11pm-7:30am

FUNCTION

The Maintenance Technician operates, maintains and performs repairs on assigned building mechanical equipment and controls, chilled water systems, boilers, compressed air and vacuum systems, built up air handling units (AHUs) supporting clean room environments, DDC controls, refrigeration equipment and various other mechanical, electrical and building systems in such a manner as to insure optimal customer relations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responds in a professional, polite and helpful manner when dealing with customers
  • Assists with maintenance of site equipment and building structure, including troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, reactive maintenance and repairs.
  • Completes assigned PM's and reactive maintenance repairs requiring, but not limited to, the following skills:

Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning

Air conditioning from Centrifugal chillers to computer room air conditioning and split Dx systems

Hot water systems including boilers and heat exchangers

Large compressed air and vacuum systems

Direct digital control and Building Management Systems (Honeywell preferred)

Mechanical Repairs - pumps, motors, etc.

Plumbing – lift stations, backflow preventers, filtration systems, restroom facilities

Electrical – repair, maintain and install systems, work with voltage that ranges from 24V AC/DC up to 480V AC, work on energized circuits or equipment, knowledge of computers.

Substation maintenance from 23KV down to 480V ( OJT Provided)

Fire alarm and fire suppression systems (wet pipe and pre-action) and diesel fire pump and related components

Instrumentation

Training across multiple disciplines including but not limited to electrical, plumbing, HVAC, controls, hazardous and non-hazardous waste, first aide (OJT Provided)

  • Develops and maintains high level of proficiency in above trades and generally well-versed in several of the above general building trades
  • Thoroughly and accurately completes reactive and preventive maintenance paperwork
  • Assists in emergencies as needed
  • Performs call-catching duties as assigned by the supervisor
  • Works according to the schedule prepared by the supervisor
  • Returns all work areas to a clean, neat, orderly and safe condition
  • Learns, understands and complies with fire, safety, and other emergency practices. Informs supervisor of any condition observed to be unsafe
  • Learns, understands and complies with all Company and customer policies
  • Participates in training directed at increasing maintenance and other job-related skills
  • Perform other task as instructed including, but not limited to, painting, furniture moving, plumbing, cleaning, and assisting other Technicians as required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school or equivalent
  • Preferred technical school graduate or apprentice program or equivalent work experience
  • Preferred 3 plus years previous experience in skilled maintenance work
  • Knowledge of methods, practices and techniques of maintaining industrial/commercial buildings and facilities to include electrical and HVAC equipment and other building systems
  • Knowledge of the equipment, tools and materials used in building maintenance
  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics and drawings
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision
  • Universal CFC License may be required
  • Background checks and drug testing will be required
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Personal basic hand tools

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Heavy physical effort (lift/carry up to 50 lbs)
  • Prolonged, extensive or considerable standing and/or walking
  • Push/pull or move/lift equipment, supplies, parts and manual dexterity and mobility
  • Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching
  • Work from heights (60’) on a frequent basis
