Job Posting Title: Team Lead, Settlement
Time Type: Full Time

The Team Lead, Settlement works directly with the Senior Director to ensure that settlement/billing policies and procedures are followed. This position will lead a team of Billing Assistants and will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely settlements of transactions, resolving any issues that arise, and optimizing settlement procedures to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the settlement department. This position will coordinate the invoice processes with customers and clients.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Billing Assistants by providing guidance and support to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and on time.
  • Assist with various administrative duties as related to Settlement team.
  • Assist and distribute tasks to settlement team members.
  • Assisting manager to ensure team members are being held accountable.
  • Create and assist with departmental reporting.
  • Work with cooperation with other locations settlement departments
  • Assist in training staff and developing processes and procedures for the Settlement team.
  • Act as escalation point for inquiries and billing discrepancies and disputes
  • Develop and implement strategies to streamline billing and settlement processes, improving efficiencies and enhance overall effectiveness.
  • Acts as back-up when team members are out of office or need assistance.
  • Maintain internal and external relationships by providing excellent customer service including, but not limited to, monitoring invoices, and recording to allow timely and accurate payments.
  • Leads by example, motivates, and supports team members, Integrates and promotes the Company Values into daily actions and interactions.
  • Coordinates with owner operators and company drivers to process their billing and resolve settlements.
  • Verifies documents have been invoiced and resolved; follows process to resolve issues.
  • Investigates any requests for adjustment to resolve or escalate to manager.
  • Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
  • Answers accounting procedure questions by researching and interpreting accounting policy and regulations.
  • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping financial information confidential.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Educational background / Work experience

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years' of proven experience in billing and settlements
  • 1+ years' of team lead experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in using billing software/systems and AS400.

  • English is the principal language for this position. This position requires good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively in a diverse multicultural environment.

  • Intermediate to advanced
Computer Skills
  • Intermediate proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, and other technical software is preferred.

  • Team player with ability to work amongst diverse, cross-functional teams and all levels of management.

  • Understanding of billing processes, accounting principles, and financial controls.

For this position, the expected base pay is: $22.75 - $30.75 / Hourly. Actual base compensation will be determined based on various factors including job-related knowledge, geographical location, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.
