Job Description: The Hassenfeld Child Health Innovation Institute is looking for a full-time grant-funded Research Project Coordinator to manage and complete work on several different projects relating to depression prevention in youth and families. The successful applicant will work closely with the Research Associates and Research Assistants, as well as the Principal Investigators, on efforts that will have a direct impact on adolescents and their families The position will likely involve working on: (1) a large-scale, school-based screening/intervention initiative aimed at addressing the problem of youth depression and suicidal behavior; (2) a PCORI-funded primary care-based study comparing two different youth depression prevention programs; (3) an NIMH funded primary care Internet-based depression prevention study, the goal of which is to teach skills to at-risk adolescents so that they are less likely to become depressed; and (4) a PCORI-funded study examining care coordination for adolescents with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities The Project Coordinator will manage/direct the day-to-day operations of research studies including managing communications, data, and overseeing workflow. Major responsibilities of this position will include the following:
  • Coordinate activities related to research
  • Implement study recruitment efforts and aid in collection of participant data
  • Assist with managing students, interns and research assistants
  • Assist in manuscript and grant preparation and dissemination of findings
Education and Experience: Master’s Degree in Public Health or Related Field and 1-2 years relevant experience OR Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or related field and 3-5 years relevant experience
  • Experience with research
  • Experience with managing confidential personal information
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations
  • Experience working with adolescents and families
  • Proficiency using technology, including Microsoft Office, Google Suite, REDCap, Qualtrics, Slack, Zoom, etc
Job Competencies:
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and meet strict task and project deadlines
  • Expertise in project management and research studies
  • Familiarity with IRB and human subjects research regulations
  • Solid written and oral communication skills and ability to interact with various professionals including team members, study partners and school staff and faculty
  • Demonstrated ability to work well independently and also as part of a team
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to sites and meeting locations, in Rhode Island and Massachusetts
  • Flexibility in work hours (willingness to make phone calls/conduct assessments during evening hours, as necessary)
