Children’s Home Society is currently seeking a full-time Residential Youth Counselor to work as part of a team providing supervision and care of children. Want to hear firsthand what it's like to be a Residential Youth Counselor? Watch here!
What You'll Do:
- Nurture children through one-on-one communication and care.
- Maintain vigilant supervision of children.
- Participate as member of treatment team.
- Facilitate structured programs, i.e., games, outdoor recreation, etc., if applicable.
- Assist children with hygiene, diet, getting ready for school, etc.
- Document required hand off communication.
- Complete weekly logs on assigned children.
- Complete behavioral/restraint/incident reports before leaving shift.
- Ensure safety standards and infection control policies are followed.
- Monitor and supervise phone calls and visits as set by child’s therapist.

Schedule:
Friday 11:00 AM-11:00 PM
Saturday 11:00 AM-11:00 PM
Sunday 11:00 AM-11:00 PM
(work 36 hours/week & get paid for 40 hours.)
Compensation: $20.00/hour + up to $2/hour shift differential

Experience/Education/Skills: High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree, or one to two years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Environment: Must be able to physically restrain a child in ways taught by the Agency while being able to verbally communicate to the child and other staff. Must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
