About The Role

Product analysts are critical in providing insights from internal and external sources to drive decisions. They may create insights on markets or large global user base and they may also create specifications specific to a small group of customer needs. Product analysts provide the necessary connection between data, information, insights, and decisions that inform actions for both. They act as high-level decision-makers, determining everything from design choices to technical standards.

Product analysts evaluate complex market, business, and user problems interpreting trends and patterns in datasets to locate influences. Working with product managers and lead engineers, forecasts, recommendations, and strategic/tactical plans are constructed that inform choices to be made on product roadmap options as well as custom software solutions. Documentation is an expectation to enable teams to execute. Examples of documents include business requirements, functionality area specifications, reports, insights based on analysis quantitative and qualitative data, and feature briefs. This can also include sourcing and managing data-sets for evaluation of users.

Product analysts are expected to share skills and expertise with team members, setting positive examples for how a world-class team delivers software products. Some core skills required include broad and extensive use of development processes, data modelling, use and creation of standardized metrics and dashboards, query languages and scripting to transform data-sets, feature design, feature brief writing to support user experience design, use of product lifecycle (SDLC) processes with remote teams, and API definition.



Your Primary Responsibilities Will Be To

  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Lead Engineers, and User Experience Designers to deliver on the product vision
  • Maintain and expand documentation on all market, business, and user needs by functional area and on feature briefs
  • Translate needs into disruptive and incremental features that improve an anchor product in-line with a product roadmap based on both market and customer inputs
  • Liaise between business units, product teams, end-users, service teams, and support teams
  • Document data structures for feature designs to inform user-journeys, feature maps, and API design
  • Analyze reporting needs, document specifications, and develop or assist in development of reports and dashboards

In order to succeed in this role you will need:

  • Very clear written, visual, oral expression of ideas with business and technical people
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience of systems development methodologies, system analysis concepts, techniques, and tools
  • A deep understanding of databases and be strong in writing SQL queries
  • A handle on more advanced data manipulation using python and machine learning/AI data requirements
  • An understanding of the software development life cycle and be familiar with programming and version control tools
  • Professional fluency in English
  • Flexibility to travel
