Northwestern Medicine, Delnor Hospital (NM Delnor) is a 159-bed acute care facility in Geneva, Illinois with a regionally known state-of-the-art cancer center, Level II trauma service, Level II NICU, and recently modernized surgical services.

As part of Northwestern Medicine, Delnor Hospital sponsors a Family Medicine residency program through Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine.

More than 1,000 staff members and 600 physicians in 80 medical specialties practice at NM Delnor, providing compassionate and comprehensive care to patients. Delnor Hospital recently earned Magnet re-designation for the 5th time and is also a 5-star CMS hospital, as well as a consistent Leapfrog “A” hospital.

The President, NM Delnor plays a critical role in leading and overseeing the operations, direction, culture and growth initiatives of NM Delnor, ensuring its continued success as an integral part of NM.

The President, NM Delnor is a dynamic leader with a strong record of accomplishment within a complex integrated environment, improving operational performance, building systems and processes to increase efficiency, developing excellent staff and physician relationships and mentoring future leaders for sustained growth.

Description:

  • Strategic Leadership:  Develop and implement strategic plans in alignment with the mission, vision and goals of NM. Drive initiatives to enhance the hospital’s reputation, service, and community impact. Work closely with system leaders to advance systemwide goals and initiatives.
  • Operational Management: Oversee all aspects of hospital operations, including clinical quality, patient access, patient satisfaction, financial performance and regulatory compliance. Collaborate with department leaders to ensure efficient and effective delivery of healthcare services. Build partnerships throughout NM to create synergies across the health system.
  • Financial Oversight:  Manage the hospital’s financial performance, including budgeting, revenue generation, expense control, and capital investments. Identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost savings while maintaining high-quality patient care.
  • Community Engagement:  Serve as the face of the hospital within the local community, building relationship with key stakeholders, including patients, physicians, community leaders, donors and government officials. Develop programs and partnerships to address the healthcare needs of the community.
  • Physician and Staff Relations:  Foster a culture of collaboration, professionalism and accountability among hospital physicians and staff. Support professional development initiatives and ensure a positive and stable work environment conducive to employee satisfaction and retention. Mentor and develop future leaders.
  • Quality and Patient Safety:  Champion initiatives to enhance clinical quality, patient safety and outcomes. Monitor key performance indicators and implement continuous improvement efforts to achieve excellence in healthcare delivery.
  • Regulatory Compliance:  Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations, accreditation standards and legal requirements. Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices to mitigate risk.
  • Matrixed Clinical and Support Services:  Serves as the senior executive to collaborate with NM senior leaders of integrated clinical and support services including laboratory, pharmacy, imaging and surgical services.


The ideal candidate will be a relationship-driven and skilled operational implementer, who possesses the exceptional collaborative skills necessary to lead a transformative, high-performing and high-functioning operations. Must possess a deep understanding of people and a sense of accountability, fairness, and consistency.

Required:

  • A Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration or similar field
  • Previous leadership experience in a complex hospital setting with a proven track record of leadership and successful execution.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and relationship-building skills
