Link Solutions Inc. is seeking a Unix/Linux Administrator (Senior-Level) to join our team in Sierra Vista, Arizona. 

  • Must be a US Citizen 
  • Non-remote (relocation incentive available)

The Unix/Linux Administrator will provide services in support of the U.S. Army Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) on Fort Huachuca. You will provide recommendations pertaining to industry vision and strategic direction regarding enterprise system design, system implementation, system optimization, system enhancement, systems management processes, and technology insertion of network and NetOps capabilities. You will assist in defining and designing system specifications and standards, analyzing system input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility and interoperability in support of system capabilities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Install, rebuild, configure, maintain, administer, and document UNIX and Linux systems, software, systems-related products, services, settings, directories, and storage.
  • Provide Tier 2 or 3 support in an enterprise-level, globally distributed environment.
  • Conduct routine maintenance tasks on systems for proactive monitoring such as space usage, deleting log files, dump files, and error-correcting.
  • Create, document, and implement repeatable processes to install, test, upgrade, maintain, and patch system environments and software.
  • Develop, recommend, document, implement, and maintain system management policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Create, modify, delete, and document user accounts.
  • Complete and maintain DISA STIGs.
  • Maintain daily operation and incident resolution of virtual machines, operating systems, and applications to provide optimum performance and system availability.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve system-related incidents detected during monitoring, by other technical teams, and by users.

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • IAT Level II Certification (CompTIA Security+ CE, CCNA Security Training, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC) equivalent or higher.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field with a comprehensive understanding of computer science concepts with four (4+) years of directly related experience.
  • Computing Environment Certification: RHCSA, Unix+, or equivalent within 6 months of hire.
  • Experience with network installations and upgrades.
  • Knowledge of Unix/Linux/Sun/Solaris.
  • Knowledge of Red Hat Open Stack/Red Hat System Administration.
  • PERL Scripting experience.
  • Microsoft Office suite and working knowledge of Microsoft Vision.

Preferred:

  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.
  • Seven (7+) years of directly related experience in the Information Technology field.
  • Problem solver and troubleshooter who thrives in resolving complex problems.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

Security Clearance:

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • DOD Security Clearance is required (Secret-Level minimum). 
  • A DOD Interim Security Clearance (Secret-Level minimum) is accepted until full DOD Security Clearance has been granted.

Shift: Day-Shift

  • Monday - Friday
  • 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM
