What would you do?

In this role you are a strategic and creative team leader with an intimate knowledge of audiences, user needs, attitudes, behaviors, trends, and ability to drive strategic planning across multiple marketing channels to achieve business goals. You will work with our marketing team and our cross-functional partners to bring our brand to life and shape our messaging, creative, and overall brand presence. The role requires the ability to lead and mentor a team in a collaborative effort toward the common strategic goals of the organization. This is a marketing leader for the Iowa Wolves.

  • Own the overall vision and direction for the Iowa Wolves brand and lead a team of brand marketers to deliver on a multi-faceted marketing and brand strategy focused on enhancing revenue and brand opportunities across all teams. Develop comprehensive commercial marketing plan and roadmap.
  • Develops and presents creative and marketing briefs that are clear, concise and deliver on marketing objectives & garner support from leadership and cross-functional partners.
  • Builds brand marketing campaigns & programs across owned marketing channels, including but not limited to digital, email, video, app, in-arena and print executions.
  • Plans, activates & oversees assigned in-market and in-arena brand experiences, including but not limited to gamedays/nights and promotional giveaways.
  • Assist in directing the Live Programming and Entertainment team to deliver a premier in-game experience.
  • Work directly with our Corporate Partnerships team to identify new partnership opportunities and service existing partnerships to the fullest.
  • Evaluates creative and provides thoughtful & impactful feedback to ensure that assets are in alignment with the creative vision, brief and adhere to brand guidelines.
  • Leads the development and delivery of integrated campaign and project assets.
  • Flexes between strategy and execution to ensure campaigns and projects meet strategic objectives and are executed flawlessly.
  • Provide analysis of data and insights to determine campaign & program effectiveness, creating meaningful recaps
  • Serves as the Paid Media lead to develop creative assets that complement priority segments and media plans.
  • Liaison to the G League office as needed for marketing initiatives.
  • Create retail vision and strategies for team merchandising across e-commerce and brick and mortar stores.
  • Stays up to date on culture, trends and the marketing and media landscape.
  • Plan and manage year-round events that deliver a strong brand presence out in the community and serve as a source for lead and demand generation.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities And Other

  • A Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 4-6 years of relevant marketing experience in a complex, consumer-facing organization preferred.
  • Experience partnering with sales, management, and creative leaders to drive distinction in an ambitious consumer marketplace.
  • Consistent track record of driving measurable business growth through the design and implementation of innovative marketing strategies.
  • Experience in developing a multi-channel media strategy and executing the plan across traditional and digital channels.
  • Demonstrated background in developing various creative marketing collateral and campaigns for new and traditional media.
  • Experience developing and leading successful multi-year brand and conversion campaigns for prestigious brand(s).
  • Deep knowledge in branding and positioning, you have helped up-level a brand for an enterprise company.
  • Experience in developing and executing brand architecture, guidelines, and brand identity across a portfolio of products and/or services.
  • You are a team player, results driven, very detail and process oriented, who loves to work in a diverse and multicultural environment and can foster and invite collaboration.
  • Strong executive presence and ability to influence and work with senior executives.
  • Extraordinary communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills that allows you to thrive in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
  • Highly adaptable – ability to shift priorities, activities, and team mindsets to keep pace with rapidly changing and growing environment, ability to be scrappy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Project Management programs.

Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, Etc.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics CRM is ideal.
  • Knowledge of SQL strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Marketing automation tool Marketo is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power Automate or equivalent platform is preferred.

Additional Information

Experience: 4-6 years of experience working in Marketing/Advertising field within the Professional Sports industry strongly preferred.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field required. Advanced education is preferred.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. In addition to working office hours, staff are required to work Iowa Wolves home games as well as external events including, but not limited to, charity and networking events. Hours may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Work is generally sedentary in nature. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available. This job also operates in a sports arena, which includes bleachers/steps..

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate and exchange information with others both in person and over the telephone. The employee frequently is required to remain in a stationary position, as well as operate computers and other office equipment, such as a copy machine, printer and telephone. Staff will frequently ascend and descend bleachers/steps and traverse around the arena both on event days and non-event days. Staff may occasionally move objects weighing up to 15 pounds.

Travel Position may require travel to external events.
