Position Summary

This role focuses on conducting microbial testing of water and environmental air samples at the Elizabeth Microbiology Laboratory. The primary responsibilities include analyzing samples to ensure compliance with microbiological standards and regulatory requirements. Additionally, tasks may involve laboratory investigations, data review, and planning of testing activities.

Essential Functions

• Adhering to laboratory safety protocols
• Analyzing water and environmental air samples for microbial content
• Conducting laboratory investigations
• Collaborating with other QC microbiologists
• Documenting activities following Good Documentation Practices
• Troubleshooting equipment issues
• Handling microbial waste

Education

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or related field
  
  

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year in a pharmaceutical laboratory setting
  
  

Skills And Knowledge

• Strong understanding of microbial testing methods
• Knowledge of microorganisms and aseptic techniques
• Familiarity with cGMPs and Good Documentation Practices
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and LIMS
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  
  

Physical Requirements

This role may involve occasional sitting, climbing, lifting up to 25 pounds, and standing or walking for approximately 60% of the time. Vision abilities and non-allergic reactions to lab chemicals are also necessary.
