We are currently seeking to hire for a full time Medical Assistant. A Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting healthcare providers in delivering patient care, managing administrative tasks, and ensuring the smooth operation of the clinic or medical office. This role demands a blend of clinical skills, administrative expertise, and excellent interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Clinical Duties:
    • Prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; and reporting patient history summary.
    • Assist the physician during exams.
    • Dispose of contaminated supplies and sterilize medical instruments.
    • Explain treatment procedures and physicians' instructions to patients.
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Answer telephones and schedule appointments.
    • Greet and log in patients arriving at office or clinic.
    • Update and file patient medical records.
  • Patient Interaction:
    • Ensure that patients are comfortable in the clinic waiting area and waiting times are minimal.
    • Provide informative and supportive communication to patients and their families.
Qualifications And Requirements

  • Valid certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) from an accredited program or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare practices, and office procedures.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems.
  • Proficient in medical documentation, coding, and insurance verification.
  • Experience in phlebotomy.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
  • Ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate patient care and exceptional customer service.

Skills

  • Clinical Skills: Knowledge of healthcare operations, understanding of clinical procedures, and familiarity with patient care.
  • Administrative Skills: Strong organizational abilities, proficiency in medical software, and the capability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication skills, empathy, and the ability to interact positively with patients and medical staff.

Work Environment

  • Work is typically performed in healthcare settings such as clinics, hospitals, and private medical practices.
  • The role may require standing for long periods and interacting with patients who have infectious diseases.

Work Hours

  • Work hours can vary, including early mornings, evenings, but are typically performed during regular business hours (no weekends).
