Event Staff - #9845003

Lake Merced Golf Club, located in Daly City, is seeking to expand its event team by hiring part-time Event Staff. Although the club is exclusive to members, it hosts events and banquets for non-members as well, and prides itself on delivering exceptional hospitality in a warm and professional setting. The club is searching for experienced bartenders and servers to join its team during this busy event season.

We are looking for individuals who are detail-oriented and organized, with a passion for providing warm and hospitable event experiences to our guests. While extensive serving experience would be an advantage, it is not a requirement. The most important aspect is a genuine eagerness to learn professional and refined service practices, and to be a team player on our small team.

The following are essential duties and responsibilities for the position:

• Ability to follow directions and communicate effectively with managers and fellow Event Staff.
• Strong attention to detail and impeccable service standards.
• Knowledgeable about dietary concerns, food allergies, and the ability to relay such needs and requests to kitchen staff and management.
• Attendance at pre-shift meetings to receive information on menu and service.
• Ability to thoroughly and efficiently carry out all instructions.
• Checking in with fellow staff and managers to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Performing clean-up and closing duties as assigned, such as cleaning the kitchen and beverage stations, returning all supplies to storage areas, cleaning the front area of the kitchen and service hallway, etc.
• Finding additional work to do during “slow times” (i.e. getting a head start on closing duties, polishing silverware and glasses for the next event, folding napkins for the next event, deep cleaning areas utilized by event staff, preparing for the next meal course, assisting other Event Staff, etc.).
• Ability to clearly communicate with F&B Department Managers of other job or school schedules. The employee must give two weeks’ notice of a request for time off or a change to an existing school or work schedule.

Qualification Requirements

• Prior experience working in a restaurant or banquet facility
• California Alcohol and Food Handling certified
• Prior experience as a server in a full service events venue is preferred, but other experience will be considered.
• Exceptional communication skills

• Critical thinker with the ability to make on the spot decisions
• Team player
• High School Diploma
