Job Description:

We've been collaborating with a small series A tech company that is now seeking a skilled Big Data Analyst for project-based assignments. They are looking for an individual to have on call to consult and advise on data issues. Your primary role will involve analyzing large datasets to uncover trends, insights, and opportunities that drive business growth and operational efficiency. This role would be great for users with former engineering, technical marketing or analytics backgrounds -- likely in B2C e-commerce or B2B SaaS.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis: Perform complex data analysis on large datasets to identify patterns, trends, and insights that support business decisions.
  • Data Visualization: Create compelling data visualizations and dashboards to communicate findings to stakeholders in a clear and actionable manner.
  • Data Cleaning: Ensure data integrity by cleaning and preprocessing raw data to prepare it for analysis.
  • Statistical Modeling: Develop and implement statistical models to solve business problems and predict future trends.
  • Collaborative Environment: Work closely with data scientists, engineers, and business analysts to develop comprehensive data solutions.
  • Reporting: Generate detailed reports and presentations to summarize key insights and recommendations for business leaders.
  • Tool Utilization: Utilize big data tools and technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, SQL, and Python to manage and analyze data.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay updated on the latest big data technologies, tools, and best practices to continually enhance your analytical skills.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in data analysis or a related field.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a relevant discipline.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or SQL.
  • Experience with big data technologies like Hadoop, Spark, or similar platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and interpret complex datasets.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
  • Familiarity with machine learning techniques and statistical analysis.
