We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Manager of Basketball Operations to join The Valley Suns G League team. This role will assist the General Manager and Head Coach in leading The Valley Suns in both operational and on and off court activities, including personnel evaluation capacities in conjunction with organizational roles, standards and goals while acting as a leader and representative of the Valley Suns/Phoenix Suns in the community.

What You Will Do

• Work alongside coaching staff including head coach, other assistant coaches, basketball operations assistants and training staff in all on and off court activities
• Oversee daily and seasonal scheduling, including practices, medical appointments, games, travel, community events and all other team activities
• Oversee player apartments,
• Oversee communication of daily schedule
• Oversee player on-boarding process including travel to market, housing, payroll and benefits
• Assist GM in scouting and personnel evaluation as well as other special projects and duties as they see fit
• Assist in player development initiatives including logistics, goals, action plans and progress reports for all assigned players, determined by head coach and GM, including Phoenix Suns’ assignments and two-way players
• Assist head coach and team in all individual workouts, practices, scrimmages and games
• Liaison to visiting teams for scheduling and accommodations
• Assist GM in budget planning and monitoring
• Maintain regular communication with the GM and Head Coach
  
  

What We Need From Our Manager Of Basketball Operations

• Proficient in all Microsoft software including Excel, Word, Outlook
• Proficient in use of general technology such as laptops
• Proficient in use of online film study and scouting resources such as Synergy, RealGM, Second Spectrum
• Proficient in use of film editing software such as SportsCode
• Experience managing non-basketball issues such as health and safety crises
• Experience leading and managing a team of players and staff
  
  

Experience/ Education Requirements

• Four-year college degree (preferred)
• Management experience (preferred)
• At least 3 years of experience in operational roles within professional basketball (WNBA, NBA, G League) or collegiate basketball
  
  

Supervisory Responsibilities

• Court Attendants and select hourly game staff
  
  

Travel

• Nights, weekends, holidays, extended hours, and travel are required in the performance of duties
