This hands-on leadership role directs and oversees the financial activities of the organization. This highly visible position directs the preparation of financial reports and summaries and creates forecasts predicting future growth. The CFO will have primary day-to-day responsibility for planning, implementing, managing and controlling financial decisions.

- Direct and oversee all aspects of the organization's finance and accounting functions, inclusive of budgets, accounting, financial reporting, audits, taxes, purchasing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, collections, internal controls, long-term planning, cash management, risk management, legal compliance and financial aid.
- Direct and oversee the following departments: Front Office, Facilities, the Café and the Security Department.
- Oversee payroll and benefits administration in conjunction with the Human Resource Director.
- Evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range plans and new programs/strategies.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships to help identify needs and provide solutions.
- Supervise the front office staff, including accounting and reception.
- Ensure effective internal controls are in place and that the organization complies with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
- Provide financial information to the Head, Board of Trustees, administrators, and donors; exhibit full transparency regarding restricted and unrestricted funds.
- Manage and direct the annual operating budget.
- Serve as the liaison to the Finance, Investment and 403(b) committees of the Board of Trustees.
- Review financial aid applications, compile information to recommend individual financial aid awards, and manage related correspondence with families.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or similar discipline required; CPA or MBA preferred.
- Ten years of progressively responsible and professional accounting experience.
- Broad-based and fully developed management experience, with a demonstrated record of directing financial operations, preparing financial statements and performing complex analysis.
- Expert Excel skills are required; Technology proficiency is essential.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with experience managing a team of professionals.

- Ability to analyze data in order to identify and present observations and recommendations.
- Skilled in taking initiative, problem solving and decision-making.
