Minimum Education
- No minimum or preferred level of education required.
- No minimum amount of experience required, although familiarity with office tasks as outlined in the job description is preferred.
- Typing letters and other documents
- Data entry into our case management system
- Filing, scanning, copying
- Verifying appointments
- Collating new cases
- Assisting with case opening and closures
- Backup mail handling
- Providing backup for the reception area during lunch/breaks/vacations
- Answering telephones
- Greeting visitors
- Notifying staff of arrivals
- Answering basic questions about our services
- Mailing/emailing applications and other documents as requested
- Handling special projects for management staff as needed
- Good communication skills for coverage of reception/switchboard during lunch/breaks/vacations
- Patience and good interpersonal skills for working with and assisting people with disabilities
- Team player attitude, as the Office Assistant will work with various levels of employees
- Familiarity with email communication using Outlook
- Work Hours: 8:30am - 5pm, Monday - Friday; the office is closed on state holidays.
- Parking: Paid parking available at approximately $22/month; limited street parking also available.
- Public Transportation: Rochester buses run every 15 minutes from 6am-6pm along Monroe Avenue; the office is located near the intersection of Monroe Ave and S Union, with a bus stop about half a block away.
- Interviews: Conducted in person at the Rochester ACCES-VR office.
- Training: Provided on the job with explanations and demonstrations of processes and procedures; staff will work together to ensure understanding.
