Patient Care Coordinator - Medical Assistant/LPN - Flexible PRN Role with Sign-On Bonus

We are offering a sign-on bonus of \(375 for Medical Assistants and \)1,000 for Nurses due to the critical service needs of the communities we serve. Our goal is to continue providing quality and compassionate care, and we need dedicated individuals to help us achieve this.

As a member of the person-centered integrated care team, you will establish and maintain effective, professional relationships with patients, their representatives, and medical staff. You will uphold clinic guidelines, maintain strict patient confidentiality, and assist practitioners and physicians in delivering healthcare services. This is a PRN position requiring flexibility to assist with shifts Monday through Friday during the day.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and treatment, including taking histories and vital signs.
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms with necessary instruments and supplies.
• Perform venipunctures, urinalysis, EKGs, and other procedures as directed.
• Administer immunizations and other injections.
• Phone in patient prescriptions and document accordingly.
• Provide patient education and instruction.
• Prepare and maintain supplies and equipment, including sterilization.
• Assist physicians/nurse practitioners in preparing for minor surgeries and physicals.
• Assist with scheduling tests and treatments.
• Screen telephone callers for appropriate referrals and relay messages.
• Maintain patients' files, records, and other information.
• Adhere to standard precautions and follow CLIA and OSHA regulations.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of unit facilities and equipment.
• Monitor and order medical supplies when necessary.
• Attend all required training.
• Meet standards of professional ethical conduct.
• Perform additional duties as assigned to meet clinic needs.
  
  

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Practical Nursing certificate required for LPN candidates.
• At least two (2) years of equivalent work experience required if a medical assistant certification is not obtained.
• Preferred: At least two (2) years of medical office experience.
• Preferred: Knowledge of medical office terminology, procedures, and equipment.
• Preferred: Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
• Licensure/Certification: Medical Assistant Certification or LPN or GPN that must pass the MO NCLEX exam within 90 days of graduation required.
