Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Generalist provides professional level support in various functional areas including but not limited to leave management, benefits administration, recruiting and onboarding, workers’ compensation, recognition programs, compliance, employee records, compensation and classification, and employee relations. The incumbent is expected to collaborate with the HR team to ensure a high level of service delivery to internal stakeholders utilizing CA’s Support Hub for HR and may perform other duties, as assigned. This role requires the ability to work collaboratively and take direction from long-serving HR team members on a day-to-day basis. The Human Resources Generalist will assist in the Columbia Association’s mission of attracting and retaining top talent.

Education And/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or business administration required.
  • A minimum of 4 years of HR experience in an HR department is required.

Preferred

  • HR Certification (SHRM-CP or PHR)

  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within an HR team and to take direction from long-serving team members.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS.
