Rail Car Loader - Pasadena, TX

Turner Industries Group is looking for an experienced Rail Car Loader to join the nested maintenance team at a site in Pasadena, TX. The Loader will assist with the operation of a multiple rail loading racks by performing loading or unloading activities, operating a switching locomotive to move rail cars, and connecting/ disconnecting rail cars and organizing them for outbound trains. Loaders for this jobsite will be working in a production environment and outdoors with a high potential for direct hire.

Qualification Standards

• 2+ years of experience moving, switching, and connecting/ disconnecting rail cars.
• Post-offer drug/alcohol screen and physical evaluation
• Must be proficient in MS Office software, especially Excel
  
  

Functional Requirements

• Assist with terminal / distribution operations by performing loading and unloading activities
• Monitor products transferred to and from tanks, vessels, or pipelines at terminal site
• Assist with terminal maintenance duties as needed maintaining equipment in operating condition
• Input information into electronic hand-held device which documents Standard Operating Procedure
• Load railcars and unload raw materials from outside suppliers then reorganize rail cars
• Track mobile movement & spot railcars and tanker trailers
• Assist customers and/or producers with any problems that may arise
• Special assignment duties and call out as required
• Subject to random DOT drug screening
  
  

Physical Involvement

Employee may be required to do the following: climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level; maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds structures, etc.; reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials; coordinating the movements of eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30 to 100 pounds from ground level, waist level, and/or overhead; carrying objects, tools, equipment, etc.; standing; sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching/squatting; crawling; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction.
