Job Summary

The Hospitality Director at the Oklahoma Office of Tourism and Recreation leads the development and execution of operational strategies to optimize sales, lodge management, concession operations, and guest experiences across state parks. This pivotal role involves cultivating strong relationships with employees, park staff, concessionaires, and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Sales Strategies: Develop and implement sales strategies to meet or exceed sales targets.
  • Client Relations: Foster and sustain client relationships while identifying new business opportunities.
  • Team Supervision: Supervise sales and lodge management teams to ensure goal attainment.
  • Sales Operations: Streamline sales operations through technology and process optimization.
  • Reporting: Create detailed reports on sales pipelines, forecasts, productivity, quota attainment, and other relevant sales metrics. Prepare regular sales reports and present them to senior management.
  • Resources: Analyze staffing needs and assist in planning to ensure optimal resource allocation and market coverage.
  • Sales Incentives: Assist with the administration of sales incentive programs to motivate and reward the sales team.
  • Standardize: Standardize lodge operations to ensure guest satisfaction and resolve any issues that arise.
  • Industry Engagement: Attend industry events and conferences to stay up-to-date with industry trends and expand the professional network.
  • Concessioners: Recruit and manage concessionaires to align offerings with visitor preferences.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum five years in hospitality, with a focus on hotels and lodging.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong leadership abilities and the ability to motivate a team.
    • Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Office and sales management software.
    • Exceptional customer service skills to enhance the guest experience within state parks.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to physically travel to any of the Oklahoma State Parks/Lodges or attend out-of-state conferences when necessary.
  • Physical Demands: May be required to stand or walk for extended periods during industry events and conferences. May also need to lift or move boxes or equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
