Role Mission: As an Architectural Drafter for Rhodes, will provide design and drafting on a variety of projects related to residential and site infrastructure development. You are part of the operations team and have an exciting opportunity to support the accomplishment of our organizational purpose to create beautifully engaging communities.

Accountabilities

  • Assist in the design and preparation of plans for new models, and update existing models, with an emphasis on detail, consistency, & value engineering.
  • Create and maintain legends, window and door schedules for each base house drawing in the data base and on each contract specific drawing.
  • Update plans to reflect feature and specification changes, as well as Included Features per subdivision.
  • Ensure plans correspond with all available options in the system
  • Plan changes in response to Custom Option Requests for lot specific plans.
  • Complete draft revisions within the allocated time on the Pre-Construction Schedule.
  • Reduce any office related variances through clarifications of plans (accurate plans with sufficient detail).
  • Position homes on lots as part of the drawing system and produce site plans per the setbacks, restrictions, and house orientation lines.
  • Submit information for building permits for receipt within a designated time frame.
  • Interpret and implement building code changes into the base plan data base of working drawings.
  • Prepare standard interior and exterior details.
  • Prepare Start Packages (blueprints, site plans, permits, PO/WO Releases etc.) for assigned jobs.
  • Check all first drafts for completeness and accuracy per the Selections sheet
  • Provide technical support for other departments.
  • Update Pre-Construction schedule accordingly
  • Prepare base floor plans for Marketing brochures
  • Communicate and review any plan changes, revisions, issues, or other plan related topics with the Purchasing Manager

Qualifications, Knowledge & Skills

  • Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school.
  • One to two years’ experience and/or training.
  • Equivalent combination of above education and experience.
  • Certification in CAD software, preferred
  • General CAD and Civil 3D experience required with at least 2 years’ experience in land development/residential construction engineering.
