Job Description

Job Impulse, Inc. has an immediate opening for a Maintenance Technician in Flint, MI. Our client is a Painting facility. The Maintenance Technician is responsible for repairing machines and to make sure the operate properly.

Responsibilities Of a Maintenance Technician Includes

• Responsible for conducting preventive maintenance of machine and tools per written guidelines.
• To perform all kinds of welding and cutting using gas and electric welding equipment.
• Assist in overseeing contracted labor of maintenance being performed.
• Receives instructions, prints, and work orders for the job. Plans details of working procedure and tools and material requirements.
• Fabricates equipment by cutting, burning, and welding various metals. Repairs equipment by using techniques and appropriate welding equipment.
• Cleans and prepares surfaces to be welded. Sets up, assembles, and tacks weld parts.
• Build up worn or defective surfaces.
• Uses burning equipment to dismantle assemblies and to cut material to size and shape.
• Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly.
• Complete all assigned projects on schedule
• Coordinate material requirements and deliveries with other departments.
• Eliminate shop “downtime” through planning alternative work for time when parts or material shortages have halted progress on the current project.
• Work with the company to design new and/or more effective ways of processing customers parts to insure quality and profit.
• Maintain safe working conditions throughout the shop.
• Prepare all required reports on time and accurately.
• Effectively perform other duties as directed by the Vice President.
  
  

Job Requirements Of a Maintenance Technician

- Welding experience

• Experience operating a Forklift
• Experience with machine repair and fabrication
• Experience using a computer in order to look up order and do reports
  
  

REQUIRED Experience And Education

• High School Graduate or GED
