We are currently seeking a seasoned Senior Structural Engineer to join our dynamic team in New Rochelle, NY. This pivotal role will allow you to leverage your extensive expertise in civil engineering, specifically within heavy and highway construction sectors.

Role Overview:

In this role, you will conduct thorough structural analyses and designs across various projects, including but not limited to, designs for reinforced and prestressed concrete, steel, and timber. Your responsibilities will also encompass deep foundation work, gravity-based structures, earth-retaining structures, and planning for crane operations and rigging. Your work will ensure that all designs adhere strictly to relevant codes and standards, aligning with client specifications.

You will also be responsible for creating detailed engineering reports and drafting construction documents using AutoCAD, as well as verifying calculations and designs for completeness and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead structural analysis and design projects.
  • Ensure compliance with all construction, safety, and design standards.
  • Draft and review structural calculations and engineering documentation.
  • Coordinate the creation of construction drawings and designs.


Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
  • At least 10 years of experience in structural engineering, with specific experience in bridge projects.
  • A Master’s degree in structural engineering is highly desirable.
  • Must hold a Professional Engineering (PE) license, preferably in New York.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software such as MIDAS or RISA, as well as Excel and Mathcad.
  • Deep knowledge of industry standards and codes including IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, AISC, NDS, AREMA, AASHTO, and AWS.
  • Active participation in relevant professional bodies is encouraged.
  • Strong project management skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Previous project experience in the NYC/Metropolitan area is a plus.
