Description

In this role, you will be pivotal in providing high-quality patient care in a dialysis setting. Your responsibilities will include preparing and maintaining dialysis equipment, monitoring patients throughout their treatment, and ensuring their comfort. You will also handle the administration of local anesthetics and the insertion of needles for dialysis access, while troubleshooting any equipment issues that arise. Education and support for patients regarding their treatment and post-care are essential aspects of this position. Maintaining accurate patient records and adhering to safety protocols will be paramount in ensuring a secure environment for all patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain dialysis equipment, including setup, operation, and cleaning.
  • Monitor patients’ vital signs and comfort before, during, and after treatment.
  • Administer local anesthetics and insert needles for dialysis access.
  • Troubleshoot machines and respond to alarms and malfunctions promptly.
  • Educate patients on procedures and post-treatment care.
  • Maintain detailed patient records.
  • Follow infection control and safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to enhance patient care.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous experience as a Dialysis Technician preferred; on-the-job training available for the right candidate.
  • Certification: Certified Hemodialysis Technician (CHT) preferred but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility for variable shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
