IHC in South Bend, Indiana is seeking a skilled and compassionate Expanded-Function Dental Assistant (EFDA) to join our team temporarily to cover maternity leave.
Location: South Bend, IN
Position Type: Temporary (November 2024 - April 2025)
Duration: Maternity Leave Coverage
Job Summary: The Expanded-Function Dental Assistant is responsible for sterilizing and maintaining the dental treatment room and instruments, performing advanced laboratory procedures such as pouring impressions and preparing casting models, and managing inventory control. The ideal candidate will possess a solid background in dental assisting, exceptional patient care skills, and the capability to perform expanded functions efficiently.

- 4-day work week
- Monday- Thursday
- No evenings or weekends
- Temporary position (December 2024 - April 2025)
- Work with an established and dedicated team
Requirements
- Education: Graduation from a recognized Dental Assistant program
- Certification: Proof of current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification (AED included)
- Required to provide education, dates, and any certificates at the time of application
- Expanded functions certificate
- Current Radiography license
- Coronal polishing certificate required within 6 months of hire date
- Experience with electronic health records preferred
- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required
- Interacts with colleagues and patients in a professional manner
- Possess excellent communication skills
