The Company


Trecora's principal business activities are the manufacturing of various specialty petrochemical products and synthetic waxes and the provision of custom processing services. Trecora owns and operates a facility that specializes in high purity hydrocarbons and other petrochemical manufacturing. Trecora is also a leading manufacturer of specialty polyethylene waxes and provides custom processing services. The company operates several plants across the United States, with its headquarters situated in The Woodlands, TX-where this position is based.


The Position


The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for administering HR initiatives with the overall business strategy in mind, through recruiting, onboarding, compensation, performance management, employee relations, and compliance for all Trecora locations including The Woodlands, Silsbee, Pasadena, and Lawrence. Additionally, the HR Manager will be responsible for overseeing the full-cycle payroll process and personnel associated with payroll.


  • Willingness to travel up to 15% of the time to our Silsbee and Pasadena locations.
  • Ensure that managers adhere to established recruiting framework and procedures, such as utilizing job acquisition forms and following standardized interview processes.
  • Manage the talent acquisition process, which includes recruitment, interviewing, hiring qualified candidates, and collaborating with departmental managers to understand job requirements and qualifications.
  • Manage vendor relations for recruiting framework, such as third-party recruiters, headhunters, background check companies, and drug screening companies.
  • Conduct new hire orientation, process all new hire paperwork, and complete background checks and drug screens for new hires, in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Establish clear onboarding expectations for managers responsible for new direct reports and provide them guidance and resources to ensure they fulfill their onboarding responsibilities effectively and monitor the progress of onboarding activities.
  • Ensure managers and employees meet deadlines for annual review and quarterly check-ins.
  • Ensure managers complete all required Personnel Action Form information in the HRIS system.
  • Collaborate with external providers to coordinate leadership training, coaching, and development initiatives.
  • Oversee full-cycle payroll process.
  • Provide daily guidance to employees regarding company policies and procedures.
  • Oversee the internal drug screening program.
  • Collaborate with EHS to ensure all safety incidents are reported and processed.
  • Handle and oversee all Unemployment Claims.
  • Manage all Workers' Compensation Claims and resolve all related issues.
  • Advise managers on Corrective Action issues, situations, and decisions with employees and maintain internal corrective action process and tools.
  • Manage and respond to employee HR Hotline.
  • Ensure all company job descriptions, policies, and procedures are maintained and acknowledged by employees.
  • Administer and manage internal Leave of Absence process and toolkit, in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws.
  • Manage all Human Resources system related modules, as well as employee files and medical files.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or relevant discipline required.
  • 5-10 years of experience in Human Resources required.
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry preferred.
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office, specifically Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Paylocity and/or other HRIS systems preferred.
  • Ability to travel to both Silsbee and Pasadena locations once every two weeks.
