Medical Pharma SME

Job Description:We are seeking a healthcare domain expert with a focus on Medical Pharma, preferably in an IT environment with experience in building domain-centric business solutions. The candidate will utilize their understanding of the Med Pharma industry, regulations, and technology to influence the direction of our project portfolio, improve and innovate our technology solutions, and provide strategic advice to both our internal and client teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply extensive domain knowledge to design and implement innovative solutions to complex business problems.
• Consult with clients to understand their pharmaceutical needs and provide expert recommendations.
• Act as a thought leader within the company for the Med Pharma domain, sharing expertise to enhance internal knowledge and capabilities.
• Collaborate with IT teams to guide the development, implementation, and optimization of related systems and software.
• Influence strategic decision-making with knowledge of Med Pharma trends, changes, and competitive landscape.
• Lead functional assessments as part of the pre-sales process. Partner with account teams and account leadership and participate in account planning and pursuits showcasing our capabilities and solutions.
• Liaise with stakeholders including providers, pharmaceutical manufacturers, and clients, to gain insight and feedback to improve our solutions.
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, including HIPAA and others applicable to Med Pharma.
  
  

Requirements

• Experience with Magellan is mandatory for the role.
• Bachelor's degree in pharmacy, Health Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in the Med Pharma/PBM sector, with a demonstrated understanding of business models, trends, and regulations.
• Experience in market research, ideation, developing business requirements and solution architecture options.
• Deep understanding of IT systems used in the Medical Pharmacy industry, including claim processing, clinical policy, drug utilization review (DUR) systems, disease specific programs, dosage optimization/wastage and member management systems.
• Familiarity with programming languages and database systems relevant to the domain (such as SQL, Python, etc.).
• Strong ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including IT, business development, and client teams.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills, with a track record of identifying, analysing, and resolving complex issues.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degree in a related field.
• Previous experience in an IT-focused role within a Medical Pharmacy organization.
• Experience with agile project management methodologies.
