Manufacturing Excellence Engineer I

Purpose

The Manufacturing Excellence Engineer I exists as a rotational development position that rotates between the Shop Services, Reliability Assurance, and Engineering areas within the Manufacturing Excellence division. This position will be challenged with real life opportunities and situations to apply engineering skills and teamwork, leading to a specialized role to match individual skills with business needs.

Responsibilities

• Rotate through Shop Services, Reliability Assurance, and Engineering areas.
• Work on challenging projects and assignments within the Manufacturing Excellence division. Items could include engineering design, re-engineering, installation of equipment, and failure mode analysis.
• Experiencing hands-on situations, training, and development opportunities to understand Metallus manufacturing and engineering processes and procedures.
• Applying key engineering knowledge and skills to build a solid foundation for advancement.
• Foster an environment that encourages continuous improvement of processes, products, and procedures that directly improves our people, quality, velocity, and cost.
• Communicate between various internal departments, teams, and staff through daily contacts, regular coordination meetings, and as required for projects.
• Communicate between various external companies and organizations regarding the design, re-engineering, installation of equipment, and failure mode analysis
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering/Engineering Technology with engineering or manufacturing experience preferred.
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering/Engineering Technology with a TimkenSteel/Metallus internship in engineering or manufacturing.
