Staff Assistant - Laboratory Admin

Additional Position Details: FTE: 1.0 | Full Time | This is an onsite position that is Monday through Friday with the flexibility to work from either 7:30am to 4:00pm or 8:00am to 4:30pm.

For this position, candidates at either the Staff Assistant 2 or Staff Assistant 3 level will be considered. Starting rate will depend on the level of position as well as qualifications and years of relevant experience. The Staff Assistant 2 position starts at $18.10 an hour and the Staff Assistant 3 position starts at $20.53. Details on qualifications for each level are below.

This position supports Laboratory leadership and experience in a clinical laboratory environment is preferred. Specific responsibilities include tracking attendance for all Lab staff, entering call outs, assisting supervisors with scheduling and finding coverage, and supporting the Laboratory Document Control system.

Position Summary

The Staff Assistant for Asante independently performs a variety of administrative functions for a department, program, or project including all or part of the following: Create and edit letters, forms, presentations and documents using word processing, database, spreadsheet or similar programs; collect data and develop and generate reports to support department functions; schedule patients and customers for various department services, including tests and procedures (if supporting a clinical unit); coordinate meetings and events including location, participants, agenda and minutes; may analyze data and identify trends related to reimbursements, charges, accounts, etc.; may provide training for other administrative staff; and perform other duties to support the program(s) and/or department such as transcription, auditing, department software maintenance, preparation of invoices, check requests, travel requests, etc.

Qualifications For Staff Assistant 2

• Minimum of 3 years progressive clerical experience providing knowledge and experience with coordinating projects and utilizing Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and other office related computer programs is required.
• Associate degree in office sciences, business, or related area, preferred.
  
  

Qualifications For Staff Assistant 3

• Minimum 4 years of advanced level administrative work including planning, coordination, and implementation of projects with minimal supervision is required.
• Associate degree in office sciences, business, or related area, preferred.
  
  

Please Note: There may be additional unit specific requirements or preferred qualifications (depending on the area supported) for both Staff Assistant 2 and 3.
