B-TEK Scales, LLC, is a manufacturer of high-capacity truck, rail, floor, and bench scales for the weighing industry, located in Canton, Ohio.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Welding Supervisor, with a strong background in welding, to supervise our night shift production team. The ideal candidate will oversee nightly operations and ensure that safety, quality, and production standards are met. This role requires a hands-on leader with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to manage and motivate a team of welders and other manufacturing personnel.

Duties And Responsibilities

Supervision and Leadership:

• Lead, manage, and motivate a team of welders and other production staff during the nightshift.
• Provide guidance and support to ensure team members are performing tasks efficiently and safely.
• Conduct daily shift startup meetings to communicate goals, expectations, and any other communication.
• Oversee nightly production activities, ensuring that all welding and manufacturing tasks are completed
  
  

Safety

• Enforce all safety procedures and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and promptly address any hazards or issues.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, OSHA regulations, and other relevant standards.
  
  

Quality Control

• Implement corrective actions to address any deviations from quality standards.
• Collaborate with the quality assurance team to continuously improve production processes.
  
  

Training And Development

• Mentor junior welders and other manufacturing personnel to build a strong, capable team.
• Facilitate cross-training to ensure workforce flexibility and coverage during absences.
  
  

Administrative Duties

• Maintain accurate records of production output, downtime, and other relevant metrics.
• Prepare and submit nightly production reports to the Production Manager.
• Assist in scheduling and coordinating maintenance activities for welding equipment and machinery.
• Communicate and coordinate work with the Supervisor(s) from other shifts.
  
  

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of Supervisory experience, Weld or Fab shop preferred
• Excellent communication skills, with ability to lead and motivate a workforce
• Strong understanding of welding techniques, equipment, and safety standards.
• Working Knowledge of a wide range of fabrication tools and processes
• Ability to exercise sound judgement with an emphasis on a safe and respectful work environment.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols.
• Basic computer skills, including familiarity with MS Office and production management software.
• Must possess strong organizational skills
• Bending, lifting, sitting, standing 8-12 hours/day
