Controller

Description

We are seeking a Controller to join our organization in lower Westchester. In this role, you will be expected to handle day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable and receivable, and financial statement preparation. You will also be tasked with performing cost analysis, managing purchasing operations, and liaising with external CPA's.

This is a small company, must be very hands on and willing to wear many hats, even answering phones or entering purchase orders. Small office experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the timely and accurate processing of accounts payable and receivable
• Coordinate with external CPA's for tax preparation
• Conduct cost analysis and manage the cost of goods sold
• Oversee purchasing and operational activities within the organization
• Handle the preparation of financial statements
• Perform month-end close activities and maintain accurate financial records
• Monitor and manage customer credit applications
• Utilize accounting software systems for efficient financial management
• Address and resolve customer inquiries in a timely manner
• Evaluate and monitor customer accounts, taking appropriate action when necessary.
  
  

Requirements

• Proficiency in Accounting Functions
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP)
• Knowledge of Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Familiarity with Cost Analysis methods
• Understanding of Cost of Goods Sold (COGS)
• Ability to use QuickBase
• Experience in Purchasing Activities
• Skills in Financial Statement Preparation
• Familiarity with Month End Close processes
