Job Overview

As a CAD/CAM Programmer, you will develop and modify CNC programs using CAM software like Mastercam to produce precision parts. Your role includes setting up and operating milling machines and lathes, interpreting blueprints, and collaborating with engineers and designers. You will ensure quality control with precision measurement tools and troubleshoot design and production issues. Your technical skills and attention to detail will be key in maintaining product quality.

Responsibilities

• Develop and Modify CNC Programs: Use CAM programming software to create and adjust CNC programs for precision machining
• Set Up and Operate Machines: Set up and operate milling machines and lathes to produce precision parts
• Blueprint Interpretation: Collaborate with engineers and designers to interpret blueprints and technical drawings
• Quality Control: Utilize tools like micrometers and calipers to measure and inspect finished products
• Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve design and production issues
• Collaboration: Work closely with production teams to ensure accurate execution of designs
  
  

Qualifications

Education:

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field.
• Certification in Mastercam or other CAD/CAM software is highly desirable
  
  

Experience

• 2-5 years of experience in CNC programming and operation.
• Hands-on experience with Mastercam software, particularly the latest version

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Mastercam 2024 for creating and modifying CNC programs
• Strong understanding of CNC machining processes and toolpath generation
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
• Knowledge of various materials and their machining properties

• Excellent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot and resolve design and production issues

• Familiarity with other CAD software like SolidWorks or AutoCAD
