Iowa Interstate Railroad, LLC is a Regional Railroad that connects with the entire Class 1 railroad system at multiple locations. Our service runs from Council Bluffs, Iowa to Chicago with a branch line to Peoria, Illinois, providing daily service to Cedar Rapids, Iowa. We offer Intermodal facilities and access to rail to barge or barge to rail service. Our locomotive fleet, track, and facilities are maintained to high standards to handle various commodities.

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Conductor at Iowa Interstate Railroad in Council Bluffs, IA. The Conductor will be responsible for overseeing the safe operation of trains, coordinating activities with locomotive engineers, ensuring compliance with operating procedures, and communicating effectively with the dispatch center and crew members.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of railroad operations, safety regulations, and procedures
• Experience in train handling, switching, and coupling/uncoupling cars
• Ability to interpret and communicate signals and track conditions
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Physical fitness and ability to work in outdoor environments
• Previous experience as a Conductor or in a related role is a plus
• High school diploma or equivalent
