We are seeking a well-qualified team player to join our Plumbing Estimating Department in North Port, Florida location. The Plumbing Estimator will be responsible for evaluating bid specifications, analyzing construction plans, proposals, material estimates, and other documentation to successfully bid on new construction plumbing projects. This position offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, utilize advanced estimating software, and contribute to the growth of our company.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate estimates for residential and commercial plumbing projects.
  • Utilize Excel-based estimating software to efficiently prepare bids.
  • Assist in preparing project-specific proposal documents.
  • Communicate project scope and budgets effectively to Branch Managers, Coordination Staff, and Estimating Staff.
  • Analyze existing site conditions and contract documents to determine required scope adjustments.
  • Develop relationships with local material suppliers and equipment vendors to obtain accurate pricing.
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure proper transfer of proposals, plans, change orders, and required documents.
  • Prepare diagrams or schematics for builder permit packages as needed.
  • Collaborate with other estimating staff to complete departmental duties.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Ability to read and interpret information from blueprints and change orders.
  • Experience in designing and producing project material takeoffs.
  • Proficiency in plumbing design is preferred.
  • Ability to interpret purchase orders accurately.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated, punctual, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong follow-up skills, both internally and externally.
  • 2+ years of previous plumbing experience is highly desired.
