Essential Functions

Specific tasks, responsibilities or competencies may be documented in the incumbent’s performance objectives as outlined by the incumbent’s immediate supervisor or manager.

  • Develops and maintains a full understanding of end user needs and how software is utilized to accomplish business goals
  • Executes test plans, as written, to ensure changes to software perform as intended and do not adversely affect existing capabilities
  • Undertakes well-defined tactical software quality assurance tasks within a larger project and completes tasks in a reasonable time frame
  • Creates and maintains regression test plans and functional, end to end test cases for scheduled releases
  • Creates test cases for all emergency releases (production patches) and documents, stores and maintains up to date test plans
  • Documents test findings, reports defects per defined process and toolset and maintains up-to-date findings
  • Executes pre-release testing of new features in a development environment to assist the Development Team in troubleshooting issues
  • Participates in release deployments, which includes planning, smoke testing and communication of readiness of release

Marginal Or Additional Functions

  • Contributes to the department’s body of knowledge and assists with driving department methodology and technical direction. Where appropriate, develops new techniques for problem solving
  • Provides quality feedback to peers and supervisors; solicits and graciously accepts feedback from team members
  • Protects company’s intellectual property and the privacy of customers’ data.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or apparent.

Supervisory and Managerial Responsibility

  • Direct supervisory/managerial responsibility is not applicable

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Education, Licensure or Certification:

  • Knowledge of computer science or engineering or a closely related field as normally obtained through the

completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field.

Work Experience Or Related Experience

  • One to three years of relevant QA technical experience in a large enterprise or e-business setting is required
  • Hospice, durable medical equipment, pharmacy, managed care or other pertinent health care services industry experience strongly preferred

Specialized Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Expertise in database testing in Microsoft SQL Server environments including designing and manipulating test data, validating stored procs, jobs, triggers and replication
  • Ability to understand and create test plans from specifications or verbal replication
  • Must have expertise with quality management software and processes
  • Experience authoring automated software tests with Selenium or similar tools
  • Experience authoring software performance tests with Jmeter or similar tools
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are needed to perform the described essential functions of the position
  • Creative problem-solving skills are required in order to translate technical requirements to test plans
  • A basic understanding of the operations of the durable medical equipment industry and hospice industry is preferred
  • The ability to be proactive and self-directed utilizing good time management, decision-making, and organization skills is required. Incumbents must be able to prioritize multiple tasks
  • A good understanding of the Company’s products, technologies, selling strategies and internal business functions is necessary to become proficient and competent in this role
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information and follow standard operating procedures with regard to patient data to ensure compliance with HIPPA is required.
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast pace entrepreneurial environment

  • Work is generally preformed in an office environment or remote setting in which there is only minimal exposure to unpleasant and/or hazardous working conditions.

  • Work requires normal range of hearing and eyesight. Incumbent must be able to use a telephone or head set equipment and operate a keyboard and other office equipment. The ability to perform work at a computer terminal for 6-8 hours a day and function in an environment with constant interruptions is required. At times, incumbents are subject to sitting for prolonged periods. Infrequently, incumbent must be able to lift and move material weighing up to 20 lbs. Incumbent may experience elevated levels of stress during periods of decreased activity and with work entailing multiple deadlines.
