Job Title: Inventory Accounting Analyst (this is a US Remote position)

Essential Function

This position is primarily responsible for the analysis of inventory transactions/adjustments and resolution of issues, working cross-functionally and across multiple systems for root cause analysis and remediation; for providing reporting based on existing formats or collaborating on the creation of new reports; for assisting with store inventory count reconciliations as needed; and special projects and other responsibilities as needed.

Primary Duties

60% Track, analyze and monitor inventory activity, transactions and adjustments. Identify unusual adjustments, escalate and pursue resolution, working with different departments and functions. Propose corrections and complete root cause analysis using systems and central databases to identify areas of opportunity and ultimately resolution.

20% Track and document all issues. Develop and monitor communication tools and materials. Create and maintain standard operating procedures for all responsibilities.

15% Maintain data sources, execute preparation and creation of reports, including development of new reports as needed. Provide information to internal stakeholders.

5% Provide assistance in special projects and management requests as needed.



Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Degree from an accredited institution in Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, Information Systems or related field, preferred
  • Accounting or Finance experience resulting in the ability to understand process flows, debits and credits, and impact on the general ledger
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an accounting, finance or audit environment, or 1 year within the Company
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of and experience with SQL highly desirable
  • Experience within a Sarbanes-Oxley environment desired
  • Some travel may be required, up to 5%

Working Conditions /Physical Requirements

The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, and residences or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, books, small parts; using a keyboard, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
